  1. WHAT WINDOWS VERSION ARE SUPPORTED?
QBKEY supports Windows 7, 8 and 10. Please note that some featuresare not supported by the Home editions of Windows.
  1. CAN I INSTALL THE QBKEY SOFTWARE ON MULTIPLE COMPUTERS?

Note

Vaults are not automatically synced between computers.

  1. HOW CAN I AUTOMATICALLY SYNC VAULTS BETWEEN COMPUTERS?
You can use just about any cloud storage solution. (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Syncthing, …) Simply put your vaults in the storage solution like you would any other folder.
  1. CAN I USE THE BACKUP DEVICE AS A REGULAR QBKEY?

Yes you can. Both devices are identical and therefore interchangeable.

Important

We do recommend you store one of them in a safe place in order to recover your data should you have lost the other one.

  1. What if someone gets their hands on my QBKEY?
Even though that person has you device he or she still needs your finger and direct access to your vaults in order to access the data within them. In other words, your data is perfectly safe. You should simply migrate your vaults to new vaults protected by a new QBKEY pair and destroy the original vaults.
  1. What if someone gets their hands on both my QBKEYs?
Even though that person has both your devices he or she still needs your finger and direct access to your vaults in order to access the data within them. Without your QBKEY devices however, it will be impossible for you to recovery any of the data in your vaults. This is the cost of real encryption and that is why you should always keep one of your QBKEY devices in a safe place.
  1. What should I do if the software cannot find the QBKEY?

Try to connect the QBKEY to a different USB port. If you connected the QBKEY to a USB hub, try connecting it directly to the computer.

Note

Keep in mind that the QBKEY needs a few seconds after being connected in order to start up.

  1. What should I do if the QBKEY keeps disconnecting?
Try to connect the QBKEY to a different USB port. If you connected the QBKEY to a USB hub, try connecting it directly to the computer. If that does not help please check the power settings of your USB ports, make sure they are not set to sleep automatically.
  1. I deleted all my fingerprint and registered them again, why can’t I access my vaults?
Deleting all 3 registrations is the equivalent of getting a new QBKEY pair. You will not be able to access any of your previously created vaults. However, if you did not delete your fingerprints from your backup device, you can sync them to your primary device. Just make sure you delete all fingerprints from the primary device first.
